Good afternoon Members

With the relaxation of restrictions we are now able to play competition golf in groups of four. It is intended that we recommence Saturday and Tuesday competitions and Wednesday and Friday chicken runs starting tomorrow 19th May.

There will be golf only as we are not yet able to open the bar as restrictions against socialising at the club house still remain in place.

Chicken runs (commencing 20th May) will be run in the same format i.e. you can play at any time of the day as per previous. Put your name on the sheet in the foyer and when you have finished your round put your $4 and your card in the chute – “competition fees and cards”. Please make sure you bring the right money as no change can be given. There is no need to put the money in an envelope. You are asked to mark your own card and leave the flag in thus avoiding too many people handling equipment.

For Saturday competition (commencing 23rd May) there will be a time sheet in the foyer marked at 10 minute intervals. Again please put your name on the sheet provided and pay your money into the chute or the card box which will be near the time sheet. There will be no nearest the pins so cost will be $8 (right change is required). Again there is no need to put the money in an envelope. Same requirement as above applies re marking of cards, leave flags in etc. The handicap sheets will be printed and left in the foyer so you can check your handicap before play .

Tuesday competition for women (commencing 19th May) will remain the same as previous i.e. 9.00 a.m. for 9.30 a.m. hit off and then at 10 min intervals. As we only have very small fields there will only be two or three start times.

The regular men’s Tuesday competition will re-start on Tuesday 26th May with a few changes to accommodate COVID restrictions: Time: 9.40 a.m. for 10.00 a.m. hit off – Play will commence on the 8th tee.

Winners names will be put on the notice board in the foyer and on facebook each week.

I do not have an email address for every member so if you are speaking to someone and they do not know about the above please let them know the details.

We hope this will work ok for those wanting to play competition golf and that it won’t be too long before we can reopen the club house and operate normally again.

Regards

Kath Ree Secretary/Treasurer
