A new Par 5 to the 5th Green? With the new 16th tee coming into play shortly, the men’s course will be left with only 3 par 5’s and a par of 71. One way to resolve this and to provide extra length/variety to the course is to construct a new par 5. We have pegged out a possible new par 5 hole which could be built in the slashed land to the north of the existing 5th hole, crossing onto the 5th at the new bridge and sharing the existing 5th green. Total cost would be $5000, plus grass seed and fertiliser. Members are invited to view the proposed in-principle layout in a brief walking tour, departing from the work shed at 4pm next Wednesday November 14. There will be an opportunity for all members to share their views over a 2-week consultation period. This begins today and extends until Wednesday 21 November. Please make all comments etc to the club in writing - either on paper via the “suggestions” slot in the foyer, or by email to the club at This email address is being protected from spambots.
